The Trials of Laugh

This past week has seen much happen, most importantly a turn from good to bad.

First off, I know I need to do a résumé or as some so lovingly call them a “CV”. Cause I came to the realization that my Army experience gave me a lot more practical experience than I ever realized. For as my role as a Operations Specialist, I had gain the skills or honed what was already there of the following: Team Management, Project Management, Human Resources, Administrative Assistant, plus I am sure there is more there. Granted my tenure in that capacity was only a little over a year, but real world experience of that nature should count for something. How does this tie into my trials?

Well, I do lack a more permanent job than the freelance work I do. What I would like to do is get a steady income, but to do that would entail creating something I have never created before. Just need to research it, and I might be able to build one, until then the reliance upon family, and the income from freelance work gets me by to what I need.

Now what I did get recently was the Headway Theme for WordPress, which is quite a nice framework to build upon, but what I don’t have right now is the drive nor the time to get something done with it… as one can quickly tell by just looking at my other site, http://futuroreal.net

I did take the time to set up a Google Apps account, but my partner in this endeavor has been just as busy as I.  So no progress on setting a foundation for the site.  Thus, I can hardly recruit more volunteers with no clear goal or foundation in mind.  I may just scratch the idea for “the Network”, and just have it stick to Podcast, and outlet for articles related to current or new trends/inventions/et cetera’s impact on the future.  I can then resurrect my original idea that was born prior to Jon ever agreeing to do a podcast together.

The gist of the idea was to bring in user generated content that would bring into discussion the future of humanity/science/philosophy/et cetera.  Though it was killed due to lack of time plus motivation after being worn out from errands to do it.

With that I end my digression, and get back on to the trials.

Well, I had the plan to use a mixer along with a XLR microphone to do podcasts with since I seem to be getting called to do podcasts more and more, whilst my own podcasts have yet to get anywhere but planning stage or in a rerun of technology news with Jon.  I took the initiative to kill the latter after recording episode 3.

Thus, I ordered a mixer, the Behringer 1002 with the “Xenyx” microphone amps.  I was able to obtain it, and the cables needed for it, but the microphone I had planned on getting that day was OUT OF STOCK at Sweetwater.

I bide my time until the microphone came back in stock, chomping at the bit to take a step forward.

In the interim, I created a header image for Futuro Real using a lovely image taken by the Hubble as the background, with some text in the foreground.

However that is as far as I have gotten, besides some color and layout.  For my personal site, you can see that my last post has been some time back, with one article in my blog writer’s queue, unfinished.Continues on Next Page

Well written my friend. I look forward to the future of our endeavor. I hope it to succeed, of course. We have the will, the way. We need to find the ground to build on, and how to further take our strengths and make them a concrete brick of might and determination.

With the new mic, I know all is well, leading to more trust in yourself, and a better product for us. Our vision no matter how vast, and how grandiose lasts not for our enjoyment, but in the possible ground work we are laying for a new type of podcast, a new type of ideal.

    May fate forever guide.

I would have us rise in glory, never mind how it fades. For minds joined to commit acts of greatness shall serve not only us but the world well.
